Auditions for “Drop Dead!”

Auditions for our January 2013 production, “Drop Dead!” by Billy Van Zandt & Jane Millipore are coming up soon.  Here’s your chance to get in on a great comedic mystery!  Director Fran Carroll is looking to cast people with and without experience just like he did for last season’s monumentally popular show “Four Weddings And An Elvis”.

Those who wish to be a part of the production crew are also encouraged to stop by and get your name on our list of volunteers early.

AUDITION DATES:

  • Sunday, October 7, 7:00 p.m.
  • Monday, October 8, 7:00 p.m.

DETAILS:

A cast of has been actors plan to revive their careers in Drop Dead!, a potboiler murder mystery directed by “Wonder Child of the Broadway Stage” Victor Le Pewe (a psychotic eye twitching megalomaniac). At the dress rehearsal the set falls, props break, and the producer and an actor are murdered. During the opening night performance, the murders continue. The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery and stay alive for curtain calls.

The production calls for the following: 6 men between the ages of 21-60 and 3 women between the ages of 18-65. The show runs the last three weekends of January 2012 with two Sunday matinees.

Rehearsal schedule TBD, depending on cast availability.

Auditions are cold readings from the script. No experience necessary. All roles are non-paying.

CREW MEMBERS & NEWBIES:

Audition nights are a perfect time to come out, meet the director, and express your interest in helping out backstage, be it in the role of a stage manager, lights & sound operator, concessions, or whatever else you might like to do.

They’re also GREAT for first-timers to come out and observe how things are done, maybe express interest in being a helper, or read for a part!  You never know what can happen.
