In The Wings: Proof

The Village Players of Hatboro announces its third show of the 72nd season, Proof by David Auburn.
The play is directed by Kevin Christian, assisted by Daniel Cochran and produced by Richard Lutz.
Show dates are March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, and 30. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8pm and Sunday matinees begin at 2pm.

Synopsis:
Proof concerns Catherine, the daughter of Robert, a recently deceased mathematical genius and professor at the University of Chicago, and her struggle with mathematical genius and mental illness. Catherine had cared for her father through a lengthy mental illness. Upon Robert’s death, his ex-graduate student Hal discovers a paradigm-shifting proof about prime numbers in Robert’s office.
Can Catherine prove the proof’s authorship? Throughout, the play explores Catherine’s fear of following in her father’s footsteps, both mathematically and mentally and her desperate attempts to stay in control.
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play, David Auburn’s Proof is a passionate, intelligent story about fathers and daughters, the nature of genius, and the power of love.
