Synopsis:

Biloxi Blues, a comedy from Neil Simon, centers on the experiences of a young army recruit, Eugene Morris Jerome, during World War II. At basic training in Biloxi, Mississippi, Eugene is determined to use his army experiences to help his writing career, and keeps detailed memoirs about his experiences. Eugene and his fellow soldiers-in-training suffer under a hard-nosed drill sergeant, attempt to stomach the terrible army food served up in the mess hall, and bond over an adventure to visit the local prostitute. Along the way, Eugene is forced to learn about authority, danger, sex, assimilation, bigotry, homosexuality, and love. In the process, he discovers that life can be both ugly and tender.

Biloxi Blues will be directed by Daniel Cochran and assistant directed by Kevin Christian, with Ashley Lora-Lee producing and Michael McCormick stage managing. Set design by Dan Cochran, Rich Lutz, Kevin Christian, and Michael McCormick. Lights and Sounds design by Rich Lutz and Daniel Cochran, and operated by Allison Schrader, Steve Niles, and Keith Maliszewski.

Volunteer With Us!

It’s easy to forget that every show of every production is put together and ran 100% by volunteers, so it can be difficult at times to make sure we have enough people to bring it all together.  If you could spare us some of your time, we’d love to have you help us out.

Email production@thevillageplayers.com with the date(s) you’re available to volunteer for ASAP!

Or sign up to our mailing list and ensure you’ve checked the “Calls for Volunteers” checkbox.
