Synopsis:
The Outsider, the political farce from 2019 Helpmann Award nominee Paul Slade Smith, follows Ned Newley, who doesn’t even want to be Governor. He’s terrified of public speaking; his poll numbers are impressively bad. To his ever-supportive Chief of Staff, Ned seems destined to fail. But political consultant Arthur Vance sees things differently: Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office.
Unless the public is looking for… the worst candidate to ever run for office.
“An insightful, witty satire about modern American politics. Funny, timely and, dare we say, entirely possible.”

“Great comedies reflect their time. THE OUTSIDER delivers on that promise.”

My wife and I just saw that closing show and it was very enjoyable. The cast did a fantastic job. Great work for a small theater group.
