We’re already in the midst of our first show, The Outsider, but we finally got word that our desired slate for this season has been approved by the publishers. So without further ado, please take a look at the rest of our current season and start planning now on which show(s) you’re interested in attending!
First up, the aforementioned The Outsider, by Paul Slade Smith!
October (2021) 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23
Directed by: Ashley Lora-Lee
(Comedy) Ned Newley doesn’t even want to be governor. But political consultant Arthur Vance sees things differently: Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office. Unless the public is looking for… the worst candidate to ever run for office. A timely and hilarious comedy that skewers politics and celebrates democracy.
The second show of the season will be Michael McKeever’s Suite Surrender!
January (2022) 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29
Directed by: Steven J. Niles
(Farce) It’s 1942, and two of Hollywood’s biggest divas have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel—assistants, luggage, and legendary feud with one another in tow. Everything seems to be in order for their wartime performance… that is, until they are assigned to the same suite. Mistaken identities, overblown egos, and double entendres, round out this hilarious riot of a love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.
Our 3rd show of the season is No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre.
March (2022) 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26
Directed by: Kevin N. Christian
No Exit is a dark drama that deals with what happens after death. Sarte’s famous existentialist play follows three people to a room in hell, where their torture is revealed to be each other’s company. Three damned souls, Cradeau, Inez, and Estelle, are brought to a lavish room to await their punishment. While they expected some sort of torture chamber to punish them in the afterlife, they instead begin to realize where the true torment really lies.
To round out the 74th season is Neil Simon’s Rumors!
June (2022) 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18
Directed by: Dan Cochran
(Comedy) At a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
We hope you’re as excited about this season as we are. See you soon and stay tuned to our social media accounts for extra fundraising activities and special events!
