VPH is looking for actors for its first-ever One-Act Showcase, featuring original plays from local playwrights! We are accepting video auditions from now until April 26th. Applicants must be available on May 29 and June 8 at 7:00 pm.

Audition Dates:

  • Monday, May 13th at 6:00PM

  • Tuesday, May 14th at 6:00PM

  • CALLBACKS (IF NEEDED BY INVITATION ONLY)

Cold readings from the script will be provided. Please bring ALL conflicts between the time of auditions and the opening of the show.

All actors must be available on the following dates:

Synopsis

Comedy. With a mad scientist, his grotesque assistant, and terrified wails from a hidden cellar,what could go wrong? Jack Sharkey’s The Creature Creeps features the hilariously spooky story of Donald Von Blitzen, a not-so-subtle mad scientist with something to hide, Mord, Donald’s decrepit and fiendish assistant, Daisy, Donald’s dopey daughter, Frank Sterling, Daisy’s betrothed, Babsy Ballou, Daisy’s college friend, and the rest of the Von Blitzen family, which all have their farcical quirks. When Daisy returns to Castle Von Blitzen nestled deep within Transylvania with Frank and Babsy in tow just as her father is on the brink of a discovery, what will Donald do? Will he be able to keep them from discovering his secret? Will the townspeople ever find out where their missing neighbors are? Will anyone figure out the origin of those ghoulish screams from the cellar? That’s what the villagers would like to know when the scientist and his assistant convert their innocent parlor into a devilish experimental laboratory, invoking both hysterical laughter and outrageous applause.
