SYNOPSIS
What happens when your life spirals completely out of control and the only way forward is to start over?
People, Places & Things is a sharp, funny and deeply human play about an actress who whose life takes an unexpected turn when forced to face a reality she can no longer ignore. Emma confronts her addiction, her career, her relationships and the person she has become. It’s not only a story about addiction. But identity, escape, connection and what it takes to truly change. With biting humor, emotional honesty and a theatrical world that blurs the lines between reality and performance, the play takes audiences on a wild, unpredictable journey alongside Emma as she tries to figure out who she is when she can longer hide behind a mask.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
All roles are open to actors of all ethnicities, races, and backgrounds. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive cast.
The cast will consist of more than 10+ actors. All but two actors will play multiple speaking and non-speaking roles. As there are no scene breaks, actors will frequently need to move quickly from character to character while helping with fluid scene changes and carefully-planned onstage costume changes.

Doctor (Female, 50s to 70s) | The head of the rehab facility where Emma seeks treatment. She’s seen it all. (The actor who plays the DOCTOR will also play the roles of the THERAPIST and MOM)
